For the modern guitarist, the world is a stage. But as any traveling musician knows, transporting a standard-sized acoustic guitar on a plane, train, or even in a small hotel room can quickly become a logistical headache. In 2021, the original Donner HUSH™ I changed the game with its headless design and silent playing capabilities.
Today, we are proud to present the next chapter: the Donner HUSH™ I EVO2. While retaining the iconic silhouette that made the original model a success, the EVO2 goes far beyond a simple facelift. This is a complete redesign with a more stable neck, a more intuitive preamp, and a "tool-free" mechanism that makes it the most road-ready guitar we have ever designed.
Designed for the Road: New Reinforced 5-Piece Neck
The biggest challenge for a travel guitar is stability in the face of climate variations. Going from a humid tropical climate to a dry, air-conditioned airplane cabin can put wood to the test.
The original HUSH™ I had an excellent CNC-machined solid neck. However, the EVO2 takes a major step forward with a 5-piece maple and African mahogany construction. By laminating these premium woods, we have created a structure much more resistant to warping and twisting.
Combined with a high-density HPL (High-Pressure Laminate) fingerboard and a natural bone nut, the EVO2 offers warm, woody resonance while remaining virtually maintenance-free, no matter your destination.
Superior Sound: HPS-II Preamp & Custom Pickup
A travel guitar shouldn't sound "small." The EVO2 introduces the Donner HPS-II preamp system, combined with a specially calibrated undersaddle pickup.
What's the difference?
The HPS-II has been specifically tuned to capture the "air" and "woody warmth" sometimes missing from headless guitars. It offers a faster dynamic response, accurately capturing both the subtle nuances of fingerstyle and energetic pick attack. Whether you use the 3.5mm headphone output for a discreet night session or the 6.35mm output for the stage, the sound remains rich, balanced, and remarkably natural.
Tool-Free? No Problem. (Hardware Improvement)
If you owned the original HUSH™ I, you know that installing the ergonomic frames required a small wrench. It wasn't complicated, but it was one more accessory not to lose.
The EVO2 responds to musicians' feedback. We have introduced new hand-tightening fasteners. You can now assemble or disassemble your guitar in seconds, using only your fingers. The transition from "packed in the gig bag" to "ready to play" becomes instant.
Moreover, we have solved the problem of "where is my wrench?". The T-shaped tuning wrench is now housed in a hidden magnetic compartment on the back. Invisible but always accessible for adjusting tuning or action.
Integrated Precision: Onboard Tuner
One of the most requested features by our community was an integrated tuner. The HUSH™ I EVO2 meets this expectation.
The new preamp interface now includes a high-precision chromatic tuner with note display. No more attaching an external tuner or searching for a pedal in your bag. Press a button, tune, and play. A small detail that makes all the difference live or in rehearsal.
Aesthetic & Comfort Improvements
The EVO2 doesn't just play better; it also boasts a more professional look.
- Triple-Layer Binding: The body now features refined 3-layer binding. In addition to adding a high-end touch, it enhances resistance to shocks during travel.
- Satin Finish: The body and "Slim C" neck feature a soft-touch satin finish, preventing the sticky sensation during long sessions in humid environments.
HUSH™ I vs. HUSH™ I EVO2: Quick Overview

Verdict: Should You Upgrade to the EVO2?
If you're a guitarist who values portability without sacrificing the "soul" of an acoustic instrument, the Donner HUSH™ I EVO2 is a true lesson in evolution. It retains everything that made the original model a success — lightness, silence, ergonomics — while perfecting every detail.
More stable, easier to set up, and better sounding, the HUSH™ I EVO2 is not just a travel guitar; it's your new main partner for practice and performance.
